April 23 represents the date of the beginning of the fair in honor of the Black Madonna, supplanted today by a solemn procession from Terlizzi to nearby Sovereto. The second date is the first Sunday of August where, on a triumphal cart, the effigies of the Madonna return to Terlizzi surrounded by festive devotees.
