The church has a Latin cross pattern: the interior, with three naves, houses paintings by Michele De Napoli and sculptures by Giuseppe Volpe.

The current facade, in neoclassical style, dates back to the nineteenth century, built on the remains of the medieval cathedral demolished at the end of the eighteenth century. On the site stood also an older collegiate church dedicated to the Archangel. The interior, a Latin cross, contains paintings by Michele De Napoli and sculptures by Giuseppe Volpe.
