Faith: Catholic Church

The building has a longitudinal plan, a single room, and a richly sculpted facade. Inside there are paintings by Giuseppe De Musso and Carlo Rosa.

The church of St. Mary of Constantinople was built in 1598 in the square that housed the church of St. Rocco, already seat of the Sedile of the nobles. Legend has it that, having escaped an epidemic in 1505, the Giovinazzo’s inhabitants made a vow to the saint, promising him to consecrate a place of worship as a sign of gratitude.
