It belongs to the families Valaoritis and Stavrou. It was erected in 1699/1700 and is dedicated to Pantokrator Christ for the liberation from the Turks on 6 August 1684. The church was destroyed because of frequent earthquakes and was re-erected in 1830 taking its present form. The graves of many remarkable Lefkadians such as Moschos Valaoritis, Andreas Stavrou, Petros Peritsopoulos lie in the garden of the church while the grave of the Lefkadian national poet, Aristotelis Valaoritis lies behind the Holy Altar. The church is decorated with works of Spyros Ventouras, Dionysios Kalivokas and other artists. The iconostasis dates from after 1850 and was created by an unknown artist. It is the first neoclassical iconostasis on the island of Lefkada.
