Church of Saint Nicholas

Build Year: 1687
Faith: Eastern Christianity, Eastern Orthodoxy

Located a few meters from the pedestrian street of Agora, the church of Saint Nicholas was built in 1687 with permission from the Venetians and was rebuilt several times –like all churches of the island– because of the destructive effects of earthquakes. The church includes works by Ioannis Roussos and Spyridon Ventouras. It celebrates on 6 December and that daythe Saint’s icon procession takes place.
