The church of Saint Nicholas in Molos, Zakynthos, survived the devastating earthquake of 1953 and the fire that followed. The church is a single-aisled basilica dating back to the Venetian rule. It was built in 1561 by the Cooperation of Sailormen that later elected Saint Dionisios as a priest. As a tribute to the relation of the Saint with the church, his pontificials (priest's clothes) are still kept there. This is where the Procession of Holy Friday starts during Easter time in Zakynthos town.
