The Early Christian basilica is located on a hill just above Fiskardo. There was probably a temple dedicated to Apollo at the site. However, archaeological research brought to light the ruins of a three-aisled early Christian church dated back to the 6th century AD, as well as two fortification towerswhich were built much later by the Venetians.
