The Roman cemetery was discovered during an excavation by the archaeologist of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage Andrea Sotiriou during the period 1990-1997. It dates back to the Roman - Late Roman period (2nd century BC - 4th century AD).It is part of the cemetery where two stone sarcophagi were found inside a mausoleum accompanied by grave offerings and characteristic objects of the time. The cemetery has been promoted by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kefalonia and Ithaki and the National Strategic Reference Framework (2007-2013).
