Mycenaean royal tomb. Located inside the declared archaeological site of Poros. The tomb presents the typical characteristics of chamber tombs (vault, stomion, entrance passageway). It has a diameter of 6,8 m and the maximum height preserved today is 3,95 m. It is the biggest known chamber in the region of Ionian Islands so far. Despite the desecration of the tomb, samples of miniature objects were found as well as of pottery dating from the period that the tomb was in use. The tomb was allegedly constructed around 1350 BC replacing a smaller chamber tomb and was in use during the post-palatial period and the transition to the Early Iron Age. There is evidence of ancestor worshiping that is confirmed by other monuments of the same category across Greece. The monument collapsed during the Venetian rule.
