Olive Museum “Fabbrica” is housed in the building of the old mill belonging to the Tsarlambas family, one of the greatest and oldest families of the island. The building was declared a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1997 (Government Gazette 876/Β/2-10-1997). It is part of an architectural complex comprising houses, horse stables, olive oil and cereal warehouses and it is located in the middle of the village. The mill was built in the early 1800s by the ancestors of the current owner and was in operation till 1978. It has been renovated and operates as an Olive Museum. Its collection includes information material and objects relevant to traditional agriculture, pre-industrial technology and architectural tradition. In the food tasting place of the museum, visitors can taste olive oil and other local products.
