The Archaeological Museum of Lefkada includes findings from the prefecture of Lefkada presenting the centuries-old evolution of the island. Objects from the Middle Paleolithic period (200.000 B.C. - 35.000 B.C.) till the Late Roman Empire (4th A.D. century) are exhibited. The building of the Cultural Centre is home to the museum and consists of an entrance hall and four halls that host the permanent exhibition. The exhibits were found in the burial tumuli at Steno and Skaros in the area of Nydri, in the Choirospelia cave at Eugeros, in the cemeteries of the ancient city of Leucas, and in various sites of the island (cave of "Asvotrypa" at Fryni, cave of the Nymphs near Ag. Kyriaki, Skaros and Meganissi). A considerable amount of mainly prehistoric objects was found during the excavations of the German archaeologist W. Dorpfeld in the early 20th century.
