It is first mentioned in 1510 as a monastery belonging to Andreas Markos, granted to the priest Dimitrios Mazis. After the earthquake of 1953, it was built from scratch, combining neoclassicism and romantic baroque. F) Silver sculptures of Holy Glasses, incense burner, linings from Venice (1768) of the Gospel, iconostasis candles of the 18th century, with the inscription: "1751 PANAGOULA IN VANATOS". G) Iconostasis by Dionysios Tortorelis (1860), with the collaboration of Panagiotis Michalakis and Dionysios Trichas, designed by Ioannis P. Katayvatis. Recently, the interior walls were covered with wood-carved decoration (work of Dionysios and Georgios Tsoukalas), with the oil paintings of Frangopoulos and contemporary oil paintings by Nikolaos Biazis-Sentis, and the artist Dionysis Palmas decorated the carpenters with gold leaf.
