Next to the village of Peratata, which was created by the merging of two settlements (Peratata and Travliata), there is one of the most important monasteries in Kefalonia, the Holy Monastery of Saint Andreas Milapidias. Inside the monastery, there is the only Ecclesiastical Museum of the island, which is home to many religious relics and icons. The Cope of the Archbishopric of Kefallinia, embroidered by the nun Theodora Kanali in the 18th century, as well as two handwritten letters of Agios Kosmas of Etolos dating from 1777 are some of the most important exhibits hosted by the Ecclesiastical Museum of Saint Andreas.
