The settlement is fully fenced, with an internal courtyard, on which overlook the various architectural bodies. The opening, in the eighteenth century, of two chapels on the sides of the sanctuary has modified the original single nave monoabsidata and gave the church the appearance of a Latin cross. At the center of the nave there is the access to the underground cave where the icon of the Virgin was found.

Sanctuary of the twelfth century, built in the homonymous farmhouse, on the underground quarry where, according to legend, the icon of the Madonna of Sovereto would have been found. Near the church stood hospital, Jerusalem monastery, Benedictine monastery and tower. Various interventions have altered the complex and walls.
