The external façade, in polished stone, highlights the hexagonal layout of the church; inside there is a nineteenth-century altarpiece by the painter Anna Rolli.
The Dominicans arrived in Palo in 1671 and settled in a pre-existing building of worship, on which they then built the monumental convent complex. The church was completed in 1727.
