The church has a facade with salient, Romanesque inspiration, and an interior with a Latin cross plan with three naves. A silver urn holds the remains of Blessed Nicola Paglia.
The monastic complex of San Domenico was built, together with the homonymous church, at the beginning of the eighteenth century. While work on the interior of the church was completed in 1740, with the construction of internal stucco, the facade remained incomplete until 1866, when the building was completed.
