There are many paintings by the painter De Musso. The church houses the confraternities of the Rosary, the Trinity and the Third Dominican Order. Two coats of arms on the facade bear witness to the bond with the Griffi family and the figure of Boniface IX.

The church of the Holy Spirit was erected and consecrated in 1397 by the will of Mgr. Griffi Peacock, legate of Pope Boniface IX near Ladislao of Hungary until 1386. Having become bishop of Tropea, the patrician Griffi obtained permission from the pontiff to build the Collegiate Church, on a land he owned. The title of "collegiate" makes it directly dependent on the Pope, rather than on episcopal jurisdiction. A bull of 1916 transforms the Collegiate Church into a rectory.
