The building has a basilica plan with three naves. It has a remarkable bas-relief on the tympanum of the central portal that represents the Archangel Gabriel and the local patrons Corensio and Leone, sons of Peter.
The church of S. Silvestro papa was founded in 1110 and consecrated in 1114 by Msgr. Giovanni De Ferraris. Object of numerous remakes- among the most important that of 1754- is still owned by the Sylos-Labini family.
